The Fowler Scholarship honors Rob Fowler, who graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in Political Science, was a leader in the University’s Model United Nations program, and later earned a law degree and became a practicing attorney.
The Fowler Scholarship is one of the oldest and most prestigious scholarships open to undergraduate students at UNC Charlotte. Applications are due March 1, 2023 The minimum scholarship amount is $4,000 for each recipient. Winners of the Fowler Scholarship have used their awards to support their continued academic progress at UNC Charlotte, including for study abroad.
Who Can Apply?
Students majoring in either Political Science or International Studies, and who demonstrate a strong interest in the other discipline, are eligible to apply. Special consideration will be given to those students also considering a career in law and who participate in extra-curricular opportunities, such as Model United Nations, the Pre-Law Society, North Carolina Student Legislature, or community activities.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate degree seeking students who will be enrolled at UNC Charlotte during the 2022-2023 academic year. Applicants must have completed at least sixty hours of university course work (including transfer hours), incorporating a minimum of twelve (12) hours in international/cross-cultural studies, by the end of the Spring 2023 semester with an overall grade point average of at least 3.2.
